Job summary

HCRS is seeking a Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide risk assessment, brief supportive counseling, and referrals for individuals and families in mental health crises. The role emphasizes compassionate, calm support and collaboration with a network of providers.

The position offers a competitive annual salary in the stated range, a $5,000 sign‑on bonus, and generous paid time off including 4 weeks of PTO (pro-rated), 12 sick days, and 9 holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with people of all ages in the mental health and/or substance use context.
• Ability to perform mental status exams and suicide risk assessments and make referrals.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk assessment and brief supportive counseling.
• Refer individuals to appropriate resources and supports.
• Collaborate with internal and external providers to coordinate care.

The pay for this position is $59,752.50-$64,704 annually.

$5,000 sign-on bonus

Starting with 4 weeks of paid time off (pro-rated) plus 12 sick days and 9 holidays per year!

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience required; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience working with people of all ages in the mental health and/or substance use context.
• The ability to complete a mental status exam and suicide assessment on individuals in distress and make appropriate referrals for services.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external providers.
