Job summary

Town of Chapel Hill seeks an Assistant Crisis Division Manager to lead field-based crisis responses, supervise Crisis Division staff, and coordinate 24-hour operations across co-response and alternate programs.

The role requires crisis leadership, trauma-informed practice, and strong collaboration with police, community partners, and health providers. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field.
• Licensed or license-eligible (LCMHC or LCSW) preferred.
• At least five years in social service/human service with crisis work.
• Two years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as second-in-command for the division and ensure continuity of operations.
• Provide daily operational oversight for Crisis Division staff across co-response and alternative programs.
• Oversee 24-hour crisis response shifts, scheduling, and on-call coordination.
• Coach and mentor staff; manage high-stress crisis scenarios with trauma-informed approach.
• Coordinate with patrol, investigations, and community partners to align services.
• Assist with program evaluation, metrics, and data-driven improvements.
• Support staff onboarding, training, and professional development.
