Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is hiring a mental/behavioral health clinician in Chicago to perform comprehensive clinical assessments, develop discharge plans, and coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a bachelor's in mental/behavioral health (master's preferred), licensure options, IM-CATS training, HIPAA/privacy knowledge, and experience with electronic health records; offers full-time benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mental or behavioral health-related field required.
• Master's degree in mental or behavioral health-related field preferred.
• Background check clearance required.
• Successful completion of IM-CATS training and credentialing exam.
• Licensure (LSW/LCSW, LPC/LCPC, CADC) in mental or behavioral health field preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in mental health or behavioral health field required.
• Experience with Medicaid/Medicare and other insurances preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA privacy and documentation standards.
• Excellent communication both verbally and in writing.
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments with patients to determine interventions and discharge plans.
• Develop and maintain familiarity with local resources to serve diverse patients.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy standards while maintaining documentation.
• Adhere to ethical standards of practice and treatment.
• Ensure documentation in Electronic Health Record System is accurate and timely.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting to support patient well-being and safety.
• Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to patients and families.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and integrity with clients and colleagues.
