These full-time roles provide life-changing support to individuals in mental health or substance use crises in community settings including emergency departments, agencies, and client homes. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services, social work, psychology, education, or related field.
• QMHP licensure must be obtained within 2 years of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Experience in crisis services strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face, phone, and virtual crisis intervention in a timely, supportive manner.
• Work with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of crisis situations.
• Link individuals admitted to inpatient settings to community supports.
• Assist with involuntary admission processes at the Macon County Court.
• Complete pre-admission screenings for nursing facility referrals.
• Maintain relationships with referral sources and partner agencies.
• Collaborate with crisis teams, case managers, counselors, psychiatric providers, and leaders for coordinated care.

These full-time positions provide life‑changing support to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises in a variety of community settings—including emergency departments, community agencies, and client homes.

Our Crisis Care program responds to anyone, anywhere, and at any time, offering timely assessment, de‑escalation, counseling, linkage to services, and aftercare support. Crisis Counselors play a vital role in helping individuals experiencing distress such as depression, anxiety, substance use concerns, or other behavioral health needs.

What You’ll Do

• Provide face‑to‑face, phone, and virtual crisis intervention in a timely and supportive manner
• Work with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of crisis situations
• Engage individuals admitted to inpatient psychiatric settings and link them to community supports
• Assist with involuntary admission processes at the Macon County Court
• Complete pre‑admission screening assessments for nursing facility referrals
• Maintain strong relationships with referral sources and partner agencies
• Collaborate with internal and external providers—including crisis teams, case managers, counselors, psychiatric providers, and clinical leaders—to ensure coordinated, effective care

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to engage individuals in behavioral health treatment during high‑stress situations
• Flexibility—each day looks different, and crisis needs vary
• Knowledge of behavioral health diagnoses
• Ability to work with individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, or dual diagnoses
• Understanding of psychiatry, medical services, and community resources
• Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently in the community and collaboratively within a team
• Ability to navigate an electronic health record
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Commitment to ongoing learning and growth

Education & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services, social work, psychology, education, or other related field
• Master’s‑level Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) must obtain licensure within 2 years of employment
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance required
• Experience in crisis services strongly preferred

Salary Range

Bachelor's Degree: $25.00/hour

Master's Degree: $60,000/annually

Additional compensations with licensure and/or CADC

Eligible for shift‑differential for 2nd and 3rd shift

Sign On Bonus Eligible for one‑year commitment:

Bachelor's Degree + one year commitment: $2,500.00

Master's Degree + one year commitment: $5,000.00
