Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Behavior Technician II to support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health needs in our Crisis Therapeutic Home or Transitional Home. You will participate in crisis education, daily activities, and rehabilitative supports under the REACH program.

The role emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care, documentation, and collaboration with clinical teams.

Qualifications

• QMHP or QDDP qualification or eligibility to apply
• Must be registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as QMHP or licensed MH professional – Resident or Supervisee
• Experience with crisis prevention and intervention preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry tools

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs.
• Monitor behavioral health symptoms and provide crisis prevention, intervention, stabilization, and de-escalation.
• Build trusting relationships while promoting dignity, independence, choice, and confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate documentation, behavioral tracking, incident reporting, and progress communications.
• Collaborate with supervisors, nursing staff, clinical leaders, families, and interdisciplinary team to support treatment goals and transitions of care.
• Ensure a safe, supportive environment by following policies and required trainings.
