Job summary

Manuel Diaz Law Firm, PC in Dallas is seeking a self-motivated bilingual paralegal (English/Spanish) to join our Criminal Defense Department. You will provide administrative support, handle client communications, assist trials, and prepare case briefs with accurate interpretation for attorneys.

The successful candidate has experience as a legal assistant or secretary, familiarity with court procedures, and proficiency with case management software.

Qualifications

• Experience as legal assistant or legal secretary.
• Fluency in English and Spanish for professional interpretation.
• Familiarity with day-to-day operations of a legal office.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness.
• Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
• Administratively support and attend trials when needed.
• Prepare case briefs and summarize depositions, interrogatories and testimony.
• Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research.
• Locate and develop case relevant information.
• Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence.
• Answer and direct phone calls.
• Maintain contact lists.
• Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars.
• Provide accurate Spanish/English interpretation for attorneys, clients, witnesses, and other individuals during in-office and out-of-office meetings and proceedings.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness

• Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
• Computer literacy
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with the ability to effectively interpret conversations in a professional and legal setting.
• Working knowledge of case management software
• Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
• Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure

Hourly Pay: Competitive hourly pay based on relevant experience.
