Job summary

Montgomery College seeks a full-time criminal justice faculty member beginning January 2027. The role involves teaching in a multicultural two-year environment, with courses offered in person and online, including HyFlex and blended formats.

Responsibilities include curriculum development, advising, and active engagement with students through diverse learning modalities. The position is part of a collective bargaining unit and located across three campuses in a large urban setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, law, or a related discipline is required.
• Graduate coursework must reflect depth and breadth in criminal justice.
• Recent teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required.
• Ability to engage with diverse student backgrounds and promote success.

Responsibilities

• Teach 30 semester hours per academic year, including Administration of Justice and upper-level courses.
• Teach a varied schedule across day, evening, weekend, and online formats.
• Serve on or lead department, discipline, campus, or college-wide committees.
• Mentor part-time faculty and coordinate criminal justice program activities.
• Incorporate culturally relevant pedagogies and active learning approaches.
