Job Description:

Savannah Technical College is seeking qualified adjunct instructor to teach in the Criminal Justice Technology program.

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and delivering lecture and/or lab course material in both face-to-face and hybrid formats;
  • Delivering engaging classroom instruction aligned with program standards and student learning outcomes;
  • Evaluating and recording students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
  • Preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of criminal justice procedures;
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must possess a master’s degree in criminal justice or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of qualifying fields or a related field;
  • Three years’ work experience in law enforcement within the past five years;
  • Ability and willingness to work at multiple campus locations, as assigned;
  • Excellent human-relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in law enforcement;
  • Prior teaching experience (preferably in a post-secondary setting);
  • Experience with Blackboard and Banner;
  • Familiarity with college accreditation standards.
Physical Demands

Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, or pulling in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight up to 50 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. The employee regularly interacts and communicates with students, employees, and the general public.

Salary/Benefits

Target salary is commensurate with education and work experience.This job is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA- nonexempt position.
