Job summary

County of Marin seeks a Department Analyst I to gather Criminal Justice data from multiple information systems for use in legal proceedings, grant reporting, and Public Records Act requests. The role involves creating reports, dashboards, and visuals to support Deputy District Attorneys and supervisors.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and in teams.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration, public policy, political science, social services, health care administration or a related field. Professional level experience may substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Professional level experience performing administrative, analytical, fiscal, legislative, operational, policy, program planning or research work may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • The selected candidate must pass a background investigation as required for employment in a law enforcement agency.

Responsibilities

  • Gather Criminal Justice data from multiple information systems and specialized legal databases for use in legal proceedings and grant reporting.
  • Prepare reports with pivot tables, dashboards, graphs and charts.
  • Summarize findings and present reports to Deputy District Attorneys and other stakeholders.
  • Develop data-based insights to support policy decisions and Public Records Act requests.
