Job summary

County of Marin is seeking a Department Analyst I for the District Attorney's Office. The role focuses on gathering Criminal Justice data from multiple information systems and specialized databases to support legal proceedings, grant reporting, and Public Information Requests.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration.
• Professional level experience performing administrative, analytical, fiscal, legislative, operational, policy, program planning or research work may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• The selected candidate must pass a background investigation as required for employment in a law enforcement agency.

Responsibilities

• Gather Criminal Justice data from multiple information systems and specialized legal databases for use in legal proceedings, grant reporting, Public Information Requests, and internal process monitoring.
• Define and collect needed data for requested reports.
• Collect data from a variety of sources including the District Attorney's internal case management system.
• Research Criminal Justice Data from external sources to develop comparisons to Marin County data.
• Provide detailed requirements to appropriate individuals if available tools are insufficient for data pull, and a custom query is needed.
• Work with spreadsheets to prepare reports, including pivot tables, dashboards, graphs and charts.
• Recommend and prepare visualizations to present dense Criminal Justice information through counts, tallies, charts and graphs.
• Summarize reports, present findings to supervisor and Deputy District Attorney's requesting data.
