Job summary

7Seventy seeks an entry-level Data Analyst to explore complex criminal justice datasets, run well-scoped analyses, and build clear visualizations to support state-level product launches. You will work with experienced analysts across multiple teams and contribute to reusable analytical work.

Using SQL and Python/Pandas, you will inspect and clean data from criminal justice records, government reports, and policy documents, communicating findings clearly to internal teams and state partners.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of practical experience exploring, analyzing, and cleaning real-world datasets. Internships and research count.
• Proficiency in SQL with joins, aggregations, and window functions.
• Experience with Python (Pandas) for data analysis and visualization.
• Ability to inspect source data carefully to produce trustworthy, reusable analyses.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Explore datasets to identify patterns and insights about American criminal justice systems.
• Carry out well-scoped analyses with guidance from senior analysts and the State Engagement team.
• Support product launches by preparing analytical data for each state.
• Identify and flag data discrepancies during launch preparation.
• Create clear visualizations and dashboards using existing tools.
• Present analytical findings to internal teams and state partners.
• Analyze trends to understand product function and impact on justice outcomes.
