Job summary

Travis County Counseling and Education Services (CES) seeks a counselor to facilitate Alcohol/Drug and Education Program classes for clients within the criminal justice system. You will assess clients, coordinate referrals, and deliver counseling in CES contexts.

Hours vary (10–20 hours/week), with evenings and Saturdays required. Location: 5501 Airport Blvd, Austin, TX. Valid Texas Driver's License is required; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences and two years of counseling/social services or criminal justice experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the medical, psychosocial and environmental status of clients.
  • Coordinate referrals to resources and services.
  • Conduct counseling programs and offender education classes.
  • Prepare progress reports and document interviews and evaluations.
  • Maintain case files and statistical reports.
  • Follow policies and procedures and ensure HIPAA compliance.
