Duties

Special agents perform investigations and protective assignments, potentially at multiple duty stations across the U.S. and abroad. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing protection for various protectees.
2. Conducting criminal investigations related to U.S. financial obligations.
3. Planning and executing security designs for National Special Security Events.

Minimum Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Valid driver's license
• Firearm possession and proficiency
• Age between 21 and 37 at conditional offer (with exceptions for certain veterans and prior federal service)
• Top Secret Clearance
• Visual acuity of 20/100 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected
• Hearing within specified limits
• Pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random testing
• Completion of 13 weeks at FLETC and 18 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center
• Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and overseas
• Registration with the Selective Service System (if applicable)
