Duties

Special agents carry out investigations and protection assignments, potentially across multiple duty stations nationwide and abroad. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing protection for various protectees.
2. Conducting criminal investigations related to U.S. financial obligations.
3. Planning and executing security for National Special Security Events.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Valid driver's license
• Firearm possession and proficiency
• Age between 21 and 37 at conditional offer (exceptions apply for veterans or prior federal law enforcement)
• Top Secret clearance
• Visual acuity of 20/100 binocular uncorrected, 20/20 corrected
• Hearing within 25 decibels in relevant ranges
• Drug testing prior to appointment and periodically during employment
• Completion of 13 weeks at FLETC and 18 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center
• Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and abroad
• Registration with the Selective Service System or exemption
