Duties

Special agents perform investigations and protection duties, often at multiple locations across the U.S. and abroad. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing protection for protectees.
2. Conducting criminal investigations related to U.S. financial obligations.
3. Planning and executing security for National Special Security Events.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Valid driver's license
• Firearm possession and proficiency
• Age 21-37 at application (with exceptions for prior federal service and veterans)
• Top Secret Clearance
• Visual acuity of 20/100 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected
• Hearing within specified limits
• Drug testing
• Completion of training at FLETC and James J. Rowley Training Center
• Willingness to accept domestic and overseas assignments
• Registration with the Selective Service System (if applicable)
