Duties

Special agents carry out assignments in investigations and protection, with potential postings across the U.S. and abroad. Responsibilities include:

• Providing protection for protectees.
• Conducting criminal investigations related to financial obligations of the U.S.
• Planning and executing security for National Special Security Events.

Minimum Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Valid driver's license
• Firearm possession and proficiency
• Age between 21 and 37 at application (with exceptions for veterans and prior federal service)
• Top Secret Clearance
• Visual acuity of 20/100 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected
• Hearing within specified limits
• Drug testing (pre-employment and random)
• Completion of training at FLETC and James J. Rowley Training Center
• Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and overseas
• Registered with the Selective Service System or exempt
