The U.S. Department of State is announcing anticipated vacancies for federal investigative roles under GS-9 to GS-13 levels. Applicants should possess relevant experience or advanced education in fields pertinent to criminal investigations, including surveillance and interviewing techniques. Ideal candidates are expected to carry out investigations with minimal supervision, contributing to overall departmental efforts.

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
NOTE:Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this public flyer notice.
Time-In-Grade Requirements:Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.
This is a non-competitive opportunity (e.g., Lateral transfer). No promotion potential exists beyond the highest grade you have held permanently within the Federal service.
Applicants applying for the GS-9 grade level must have specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level.
Specialized experience statement for GS-09:
OR
Have a Master’s or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in fields like finance, accounting, computer science, business administration, journalism, languages, forensic science, or a LL.B or J.D. from an accredited college or university.
Applicants applying for the GS-11 grade level must have specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level.
Specialized experience statement for GS-11:

Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in relevant fields or an LL.M. from an accredited college or university.
Applicants applying for the GS-12 grade level must have specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
Specialized experience statement for GS-12:
There is no substitute for education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
Applicants applying for the GS-13 grade level must have specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.
Specialized experience statement for GS-13:
There is no substitute for education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
