Criminal Intelligence Analyst - Classification Code: 6174 - Salary Group: B25 - Salary Range: $69,572-$114,099

Performs criminal intelligence research and analysis involving complex data analysis, report writing, and identification of criminal activity patterns. This role is part of the Occupational Licensing and Enforcement teams, focusing on criminal intelligence related to occupational licenses for activities involving pari-mutuel horse racing. Works under minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment.

• Coordinate major investigations, ensuring quality, accountability, and timely completion.
• Research and review relevant publications; evaluate data; disseminate information to aid investigations.
• Analyze intelligence on organized crime and criminal activities; report findings.
• Compile data, analyze, and prepare reports on criminal developments.
• Create bulletins and publications for law enforcement.
• Develop analytical procedures for reliable intelligence operations.
• Allocate resources to accomplish tasks efficiently.
• Manage occupational licensing processes, including background checks and application decisions.
• Engage with customers in licensing environments, tracking revenue and supporting modernization initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of intelligence gathering, crime analysis, law enforcement procedures, and report writing.
• Skilled in computer use and applicable software.
• Ability to produce clear reports, utilize charts and maps, analyze profiles, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to supervise others.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Experience in criminal intelligence analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, homeland security, or related fields preferred; experience and education may be combined.
