Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Office of the Attorney General is seeking a Criminal Intelligence Analyst II to join the Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control unit in Frankfort. The analyst will assist detectives and prosecutors with complex fraud and abuse cases, producing quality reports and actionable intelligence for prosecutions in state and federal courts.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional intelligence analysis experience.

Description

The Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control operates within Kentucky's Office of the Attorney General. Itis the primary law enforcement agency for the investigation and prosecution of cases of Medicaid fraudperpetrated by medical providers as well as cases of adult abuse and neglect within medical facilities, longterm care facilities, and room and board homes.

The Office seeks an experienced intelligence analyst who has exceptional analytical, organizational andcommunication skills to assist detectives and prosecuting attorneys with complex fraud, neglect and abusecases.

Candidates will have the ability to provide assistance to the investigative and prosecutorial team to developcases for prosecution in state and federal courts.

As an Intelligence Analyst within the Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control, cases will be related to:

  • Medicaid provider fraud (physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, etc.)
  • The abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults who reside in Medicaid funded facilities or Board and Care homes.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in intelligence analysis.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Professional experience in criminal intelligence, criminal justice, investigative law enforcement, or a related field of investigationwill substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
