Job summary

Office of the Colorado State Public Defender in Colorado is seeking an Investigator I to learn and apply policies and procedures while supporting the defense team. You will work under supervision, developing essential investigative skills and documenting all work for cases.

Responsibilities include organizing case files, interviewing witnesses, and coordinating with attorneys to build a defense strategy. Some travel within Colorado may be required as you grow into higher responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in listed fields.
• Experience with investigations and defense work preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Organize and prepare case files for investigations.
• Prepare for interviews with witnesses and victims.
• Collaborate with attorneys on defense strategy and ethics issues.
• Maintain regular communication with attorneys on case status and deadlines.
• Document all work thoroughly and accurately.
