You will counsel clients on rights and strategy, conduct research, review discovery, draft motions, and negotiate with prosecutors while appearing in court for hearings, trials, and sentencings. The role requires at least two years in criminal practice, strong writing and research skills, and excellent client communication.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Michigan in good standing.
• Minimum two years of criminal practice experience, including courtroom advocacy and motion practice.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities, including briefs and motions.
• Effective client communication, interviewing, and negotiation skills.
• High level of professionalism, ethical judgment, and discretion with sensitive matters.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and work independently with staff.
• Familiarity with Michigan criminal procedure, rules of evidence, and court practices preferred.

Responsibilities
