Pav Law is a growing, elite criminal defense firm with a bold mission: to become the best in the state. We're hiring our first associate attorney — someone sharp, self-driven, and ready to take ownership of serious criminal cases in a remote, high-accountability environment.
We intend for this to be the best-paying criminal law associate position in the state. The salary will be $150,000, but with bonuses, the total will be approximately 30% of the money your work brings into the firm. We anticipate total pay to be $200,000-300,000 based on our current revenue and that of other firms in the area.

You must be able to appear in court as needed, but outside of that, this is intended to be a work-from-home position with no formal office. We believe practicing law in a robe shouldn’t be reserved solely for judges. However, if you think an office would benefit you, we are open to discussing that.

We’re open to a variety of candidates:

• Experienced criminal law attorneys with additional strong skills in areas the firm currently doesn’t handle, but would like to expand into, such as appeals, federal cases, and personal injury (particularly excessive force by the police.)
• High-performing associates at private firms who are tired of getting paid only 20% extra to make their firm twice what their peers do.
• Motions, appeals, and research experts who have trial experience and can maintain good relationships with clients, but would rather let the founding attorney handle trials.
• Long-time federal prosecutors who are ready to hop off the crazy train and make way more money sticking it to the man than they did upholding the law back when that was the DOJ’s priority.

What We’re Looking For:

• Absolute minimum of 3 years of criminal defense experience, but more would be preferred.
• Felony trial experience and the ability to confidently try misdemeanors.
• Ability to manage cases independently — from intake through resolution.
• Strong legal research, brief writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convert consultations into clients.
• Discipline and self-direction in a remote work environment.
• Someone who is looking to help build a culture of excellent customer service and objectively superior performance.

• Play a key role in firm growth, internal development, and case strategy.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Colorado.
• Minimum 3 years of criminal defense law experience.
• Strong writing samples, trial success, and excellent motion practice.
• Reliable access to internet, phone, and transportation for court appearances.
• A commitment to excellent advocacy for our clients, and the ability to treat them with respect, compassion, and empathy, even though some of them are terrible people.
