Job summary

Harford County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Law Enforcement Analyst to extract, collect, collate, and analyze crime and incident data to produce intelligence products on activity and patterns. Responsibilities include spatial and temporal analysis, social media monitoring, and preparing charts, maps, and reports for command staff.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or Data Analytics (Master's preferred), and 3 years in criminal intelligence or crime analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Data Analytics, Statistics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Three years of work experience in criminal intelligence or crime analysis.
• Ability to collect, collate and analyze intelligence processes.

Responsibilities

• Extract, collect, collate, and analyze crime data to disseminate intelligence on activity and trends.
• Monitor social media for potential criminal activity or threats to the community.
• Prepare reports, charts, maps, and briefings for patrol, investigations, and command staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive law enforcement information.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and staff; perform other duties as assigned.
