Job summary

The City of Lewisville is seeking a Crime Analyst to identify spatial and temporal patterns in criminal activity and to support manpower deployment. You will analyze data from internal and external reports, coordinate with detectives and outside agencies, and produce timely crime statistics and reports.

Required is a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 2 years of data analysis experience in a law enforcement environment; TCIC/NCIC certification within 6 months of hire, and

Qualifications

Degree in a related field with strong analytical foundation.
Experience interpreting data in a law enforcement context preferred.
TCIC/NCIC certification within 6 months of hire; crime analysis certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

Identify and report spatial and temporal trends in criminal activity.
Perform data analysis and report crime statistics, patterns and trends.
Collaborate with detectives and external agencies to support cases.
Prepare reports, bulletins and crime comparisons regularly.
Maintain internal databases of selected persons and case components.
Develop tactical analysis to guide patrol and investigative priorities.
