Job summary

Lincoln Electric in Carthage, TN, is hiring an hourly entry-level production associate onsite. The role supports the production team with kit assembly, order processing, and material handling.

Overtime may be required; relocation is not available and the environment is not temperature controlled. Responsibilities include reading work orders, identifying locations, stocking parts, and maintaining safety standards.

  • Must be able to operate a computer and use basic software.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble kits by pulling parts based on work orders.
  • Read work orders to determine urgency and locations.
  • Scan completed work orders and enter quantities pulled into the system.
  • Stock purchased parts and components.
  • Locate items using the location matrix in the system.
  • Support the team across production and with employee needs.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.
  • Forklift certified—training provided on the job.

Summary of the Position

Work is performed onsite in Carthage, TN. This is an hourly entry level production manufacturing position and relocation is not available. Work environment is not temperature controlled.

Position Hours: 1st shift 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday. Overtime varies for Friday and Saturday and may be mandatory.

Job Responsibilities

Summary of the Position

Process orders for production efficiently and accurately by performing the following duties.

Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization. This position requires close attention to detail. This position also requires you to be able to accurately identify numbers, and climb up and down a ladder frequently.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions - 95%

  • Assemble kits by pulling parts based off of work order
  • Reading work order to determine urgency as well as item locations
  • Scan completed work orders into the system entering the quantity pulled
  • Stock purchased parts and components
  • Access the location matrix in the system to accurately determine item locations
  • Supports the team as needed throughout production and with employee needs
  • Perform any other job responsibilities directed by management as business dictates
  • Fork Lift Certified – this is done on the job

Safety Training, Team Meetings & Lean concepts – 5%

  • Participates in safety and skill training and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times
  • Utilizes lean tools: 6s, visual factory concepts in maintaining order, cleanliness, and a safe work environment
  • Must be willing and able to wear all required personal protective equipment while performing the job as required by the company
  • Maintain a safe work area by working safely, following safety guidelines, and wearing required personal protective equipment

Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to read measuring scales, tape measure, micrometers, and calipers. Ability to apply concepts of basic math including angels.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands of Position

  • Sitting or standing for a 10-hour work day as the job dictates, with occasional overtime
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds team lifting, raising or lowering an object from one level to another, including upward pulling
  • Ability to handle job materials, sizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands
  • Hand-eye coordination in the operation of various tools
  • Heavy or constant visual attention is required when performing the job
