Lincoln Electric in Carthage, TN is seeking an entry-level Production Lead to supervise and coordinate activities that deliver value to customers, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality across shifts.

You will run equipment, track production personnel time, and maintain work instructions while coaching the team and supporting lean initiatives. This role requires safety consciousness and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to understand manufacturing processes.
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • The Production Lead is an entry level supervisory role responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering value to internal and external customers.
  • Run equipment up to 50% of time or as needed; track daily production personnel time; audit and maintain work instructions; correct unsafe acts.
  • Participate in interviews and assist with hiring decisions; mentor and develop team members; enforce company policies and Lean initiatives.
  • Support safety training, 6S audits, and lean tools; ensure compliance with EHS audits and quality metrics.

Summary of the Position

Work is performed onsite in Carthage, TN. This is an hourly entry level production manufacturing position and relocation is not available. Work environment is not temperature controlled.

Position Hours: 1st shift 6:00am - 4:30pm ; 2nd shift - 4:30pm - 3:00am Monday - Thursday. Overtime varies for Friday and Saturday and may be mandatory.

Summary of Position

The position of Production Lead is considered an entry level position for those who have expressed an interest in and have displayed abilities to lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of workers as assigned by the area(s) of responsibility to deliver value to internal and external customers. This position always requires a high regard for safety in performing any tasks associated with working for Harris Products Group.

  • Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization.
  • Executes daily production plan to have all necessary machines up and running to scheduled plan.
  • Supports lean initiatives to facilitate team goals/metrics.
  • Participates in team meetings and works on cost savings projects.

Lead Responsibilities - 50%

  • Run equipment up to 50% of time or as needed
  • Track daily time of production personnel
  • Audit and maintain work instructions
  • Make on the spot corrections of any unsafe acts
  • Participate in employee evaluations
  • Coach and develop team members
  • Maintain training levels
  • Support and enforce all Company policies and procedures
  • Perform all responsibilities in a consistent, reliable and professional manner.
  • Participates in interviews and provides input for selection and hiring
  • Advises supervisor about counselling of employees that may lead to future disciplinary action
  • Exercise strict confidentiality regarding personnel matters.
  • Conducts oneself in a manner that sets a positive example for all employees and encourages teamwork.
  • Establish and maintain sound communication with subordinates, peers and management.
  • Assist and support employees in resolving work related issues.
  • Ensure employees are fulfilling the needs of the department and are held accountable for their actions.

Troubleshooting – 25%

  • Assist in maintaining repair parts inventory & supplies

Administrative – 20%

  • Communicates pertinent information to supervisor.
  • Assists with daily data entry of production reports as demand warrants.
  • Document and report all Accidents, Incidents and Near Misses.
    • Properly fills out paperwork, takes pictures, assists with root cause analysis of the IINM.
  • Responsible for helping correct discrepancies in 5s and EHS Audits

Safety Training, Team Meetings & Lean concepts – 5%

  • Participates in safety training and always demonstrates a high regard for safety
  • Learns and utilizes lean tools: 6s, visual factory concepts in maintaining order and cleanliness
Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Required -

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to understand manufacturing processes
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred-

  • Experienced with SAP
  • Experience with Lean tools
