Job summary

Instructional Student Assistant pool in the Department of Critical Race, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA. Positions support teaching, grading and tutoring across CRGS courses during Academic Year 2026/2027, with up to 20 hours per week and a pay rate of $17.86/hour.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in CRGS, ES, or WS courses, evidenced by letter grade of B or higher in all prior coursework, or recommendation from a CRGS faculty member.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and refer students to campus resources to support student success.

Responsibilities

• Assisting faculty in CRGS, ES, or WS courses in supporting student learning and tutoring.
• Reviewing student submissions, tutoring, and mentoring; coordinating with faculty; maintaining student progress records.
• Meeting with faculty at least every other week to discuss student support and progress.
