Job summary

JSX is seeking a Crew Scheduler to manage daily to long-term crew assignments for pilots and flight attendants, ensuring FAR Part 135 compliance and crew legality. You will respond to weather, maintenance delays, and other disruptions by reassigning crews and coordinating travel while maintaining schedules.

You'll work closely with Crew Planning, pilots, and flight attendants, using NavBlue N-OC and related tools to optimize coverage and minimize disruptions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous scheduling, workforce planning, or related experience.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience working with spreadsheets and managing detailed scheduling information.
• Ability to understand and apply FAA regulations, policies, and crew scheduling requirements.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask, adapt, and reprioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to execute time-sensitive tasks under pressure while maintaining a high degree of focus and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assign Pilots and Flight Attendants to flights while ensuring compliance with applicable FAR Part 135 duty and rest limitations.
• Ensure all scheduled flights are appropriately crewed and identify potential coverage issues before they impact the operation.
• Monitor crew legality in real time and take action to maintain compliance as schedules change.
• Respond to operational disruptions, including severe weather, mechanical delays, and Crewmember illness, by adjusting assignments and activating reserve personnel.
• Assign reserve periods and deploy reserve Crewmembers based on operational needs.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for Pilots and Flight Attendants regarding schedule questions, trip trades, assignments, and updates.
• Coordinate last-minute deadhead flights, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation for displaced or repositioning Crewmembers.
• Use NavBlue N-OC and related scheduling tools to manage daily, short-term, and long-term schedule changes.
• Work closely with Crew Planning and provide daily support as operational needs evolve.
• Evaluate scheduling options and adjust flying when appropriate to help minimize aircraft swaps and operational disruption.
• Maintain accurate scheduling information and communicate changes quickly and clearly to affected Crewmembers and stakeholders.
• Balance multiple time-sensitive priorities while maintaining accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational focus.

About the Role

The Crew Scheduler is at the center of JSX’s day-to-day flight operation, ensuring every flight has the qualified Crewmembers needed to operate safely and in compliance with applicable requirements. You'll manage daily, short-term, and long-term scheduling changes for Pilots and Flight Attendants while continuously monitoring crew legality and responding to changing operational conditions. When weather, maintenance delays, illness, or other disruptions affect the schedule, you'll quickly evaluate options, reassign Crewmembers, activate reserves, and coordinate necessary travel arrangements to keep the operation moving. This role is ideal for someone who stays organized under pressure, communicates clearly, and enjoys solving fast-moving operational puzzles where priorities can change by the minute.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you'll:

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous scheduling, workforce planning, or related experience.

• Airline or aviation industry experience and knowledge of airline terminology.
• Experience with NavBlue products, including N-OC, PBS, and NPO.
• Experience supporting real-time airline operations, crew recovery, or irregular operations.

Additional Information

This role requires schedule flexibility and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs. The position involves intermittent physical activity, including bending, reaching, prolonged periods of sitting, and occasionally lifting 5-20 pounds. May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
