Job summary

Metalcrafters NC is seeking an Installation Crew Member in Goldsboro, NC. You will join a field installation team to install custom metal products on commercial job sites, working with an experienced foreman.

The role requires physical labor, safety-mindedness, and a readiness to learn while maintaining quality craftsmanship. You will read drawings, use a tape measure and level, operate hand and power tools, and assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience required.
• Previous miscellaneous metal, construction, or field installation experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old for insurance purposes.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of stairs, railings, handrails, gates, ladders, and other metal products.
• Perform field welding and fabrication as needed to complete installations.
• Read and accurately use a tape measure and level.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment.

As an Installation Crew Member, you'll work alongside an experienced Installation Foreman and crew to safely and efficiently install custom miscellaneous metal products, including stairs, handrails, guardrails, gates, ladders, and other custom-fabricated metal products on commercial job sites.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Assist with the installation of stairs, railings, handrails, gates, ladders, and other miscellaneous metal products
• Perform field welding and fabrication as required to complete installations
• Read and accurately use a tape measure and level
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment
• Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and handling fabricated materials
• Follow approved drawings, project requirements, and direction from the Installation Foreman
• Work efficiently as part of an installation crew to keep projects moving safely and on schedule
• Maintain company tools, equipment, PPE, and crew vehicles
• Keep job sites, work areas, and company vehicles clean and organized
• Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements
• Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and project management
• Identify potential jobsite challenges and work with the crew to solve problems proactively
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work
• Represent Metalcrafters professionally and positively on every job site

The position works as part of an installation team and requires the ability to adapt to changing jobsite conditions, perform strenuous manual labor, maintain the crew's pace, and contribute to safe and efficient installations.

What We’re Looking For

• Must be at least 21 years of age for company insurance purposes
• Must have a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle record that meets Metalcrafters' insurance requirements for operating company vehicles
• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience required
• Previous miscellaneous metal, construction, or field installation experience is preferred
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and level
• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding work
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new installation methods, equipment, and skills
• Ability to work in changing jobsite environments and conditions
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary, including early mornings, late days, and occasional weekends
• Must obtain and maintain required safety certifications, including First Aid/CPR, forklift, scissor lift/telehandler, and OSHA 10-hour certification
