Job summary

SpreadRite in Mobile, AL is hiring Crew Members / Laborers to install and maintain erosion and sediment control systems at construction sites. This is a hands-on outdoor role requiring reliability, physical stamina, and teamwork to protect waterways and the environment.

You’ll learn BMP installation, operate basic tools and light equipment, and support an experienced crew across Mobile and nearby Alabama areas.

We’re growing quickly and looking for dependable, hardworking Crew Members / Laborers to join our team in the Mobile area. You’ll work alongside an experienced crew installing and maintaining erosion and sediment control systems that help protect construction sites, waterways, and the environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Crew Member, you’ll work as part of a close‑knit team performing hands‑on erosion and sediment control work at construction sites throughout the Mobile area and surrounding regions.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Installing and repairing silt fences, inlet protection, turbidity barriers, and other Best Management Practices (BMPs)
• Operating hand tools, power tools, and light construction equipment such as trenchers, ride‑on blowers, and skid steers
• Driving company vehicles and safely hauling trailers
• Maintaining and repairing erosion control measures as needed
• Keeping job sites clean, organized, and safe
• Assisting the crew with additional construction and field tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

• Some experience in construction, landscaping, erosion control, or a related field
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to a strong work ethic
• Clean driving record and ability to safely operate a company vehicle
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and willingness to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience installing erosion and sediment control measures or BMPs
• Familiarity with silt fences, inlet protection, turbidity barriers, or similar systems
• Experience operating light construction equipment
• Previous experience working on construction sites

Working Conditions

This is a hands‑on outdoor position. You should be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions and traveling to job sites throughout the Mobile area.

• Monday–Friday schedule
• Full‑time hours
• Overtime and occasional weekend work may be available
• Travel to job sites throughout the Mobile area, with occasional travel to other areas of Alabama and Florida

Physical Requirements

This position requires physical activity throughout the workday. Candidates must be able to:

• Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Work outdoors in hot, cold, and changing weather conditions
• Walk and stand for extended periods
• Work in physically demanding positions, including kneeling, bending, squatting, and lifting
• Safely perform repetitive physical tasks on active construction sites

Required PPE: Hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and work boots. PPE will be provided or reimbursed according to company policy.
