Job Title: Pushing Progress Philly (P3) Crew Manager
Classification: Exempt
Salary: $55,000
Location: Germantown, Philadelphia (may expand to other neighborhoods)
Program Description
The City of Philadelphia’s Community Violence Intervention (CVI) program, Pushing Progress Philly (P3), serves residents who are at elevated risk of gun violence. Program components include street outreach, case management, transitional jobs, coaching and behavioral health curriculum, with goals to reduce neighborhood safety disparities and increase workforce participation for Black men.
Scope of Position
Provide leadership and support to Crew Chiefs, ensuring adherence to the P3 model, mission, and service delivery approach. Responsibilities include:
- Oversee worksite supervision, transport, and worksite matching aligned with hotspot mapping and career interests.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to establish worksites and hiring partner relationships.
- Collaborate with P3 Program Director, Outreach, Job Coaching, and Behavioral Health teams on operational implementation, continuous improvement, and data reporting.
- Mentor and develop staff through role modeling, coaching, performance assessment, and timely communication.
- Ensure accurate and regular data reporting on all services.
- Conduct HR functions: interviews, hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, improvement plans.
- Coordinate with fiscal entities to track transitional job hours and wages.
- Provide worksite transport and supervision of P3 participants, ensuring safety and protocol compliance.
- Engage employer partners, develop diverse worksites, and manage agreements and verifications.
- Participate in conflict resolution and critical incident response, including de‑escalation strategies.
- Facilitate team meetings focused on continuous improvement and staff well‑being.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders.
Essential Functions
- Schedule daily services, transport, and task assignments for Crew Chiefs.
- Provide orientation and job coaching to participants moving to phases 3 and 4.
- Oversee work crew vehicle and equipment maintenance and record keeping.
- Conduct regular worksite visits to assess safety and protocol compliance; implement improvements.
- Provide feedback and performance reports for Job Coaches.
- Coordinate safety, action plans, and career pathways with behavioral health staff.
- Handle incident reports, grievances, and collaborate on solutions.
Education and Experience Requirements
Requirements and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, liberal arts, or related field.
- Experience leading teams providing direct service to at‑risk populations.
- Experience in gun violence reduction and workforce development programs.
- Experience in talent development and business services.
- Demonstrated servant leadership values in a team‑oriented environment.
- Strong understanding of trauma‑informed care, motivational interviewing, and behavioral modification concepts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Excellent writing, proofing, and presentation skills.
- Positive professional attitude and ability to interact with diverse individuals.
- Individuals with criminal records and/or lived experience with community violence are encouraged to apply.
- Valid driver’s license and comfort with local travel.
