Job summary

Muller, Inc. in the Richmond area is seeking a Crew Leader - Wet Utility to supervise field crews on water and sewer projects. Reports to Superintendents & Project Managers; full-time, on-site work with some Saturdays.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of wet utility experience, can operate large excavators with precision, and communicates effectively with clients. A valid driver’s license and ability to work in confined spaces are required.

Responsibilities

• Excavates trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.
• Installs trench boxes as necessary.
• Operates equipment in Muller's safety policies and OSHA procedures.
• Ensure proper excavation and compaction procedures.
• Performs daily equipment inspections and greases equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of underground utilities.
• Manage quality control and production.
• Train team members in a hands-on manner.

Title: Utility Foreman

Type: Full time, non-exempt

Location: Job Site

Reports To: Superintendents & Project Managers

Schedule: Monday - Friday, some Saturdays

Responsibilities:

• Excavates trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer
• Installs trench boxes as necessary
• Operates equipment in compliance with Muller's safety policies and OSHA procedures
• Ensure proper excavation & compaction procedures are performed
• Ensures all equipment is maintained by performing daily equipment inspections & grease equipment at required intervals
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required to complete the job
• Manage quality control and production
• Train team members as needed in a hands-on manner

Qualifications:

• Must be able to communicate directly with clients

Physical Requirements:

• Employee must be physically fit to perform duties of the job in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling (up to 50 lbs.).
• Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen.
• Other physical requirements include walking, climbing, balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending or crawling.
• Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
