Job Summary

Lot Operations Specialist II – an individual contributor role at Cox Automotive. Must work at a specified Cox location with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule. Work can be flexible but no remote option is available. Compensation is an hourly base pay rate ranging from $15.10 to $22.69 per hour, varying with location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for additional compensation such as commission and/or an incentive program.

Responsibilities

• Orient and instruct new drivers regarding their job duties and assist the supervisor in assigning and directing employees.
• Communicate with the supervisor or manager to ensure proper vehicle flow and maintain a log of stock numbers for each vehicle moved and its lot location.
• Communicate schedules and assignments to crew members.
• Manage vans and transport drivers to locations; ensure timely pick‑up and drop‑off of employees and vehicles according to schedule.
• Shuttle employees to and from auxiliary parking lots on sale days and provide transportation to employees parking inventoried vehicles at remote sites.
• Pick‑up and drop‑off employees and other auction personnel to/from the auction, parking lots, dealerships, customer locations/businesses, and other sites.
• Perform daily maintenance and routine checks of the van and clean and service the vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors.
• Work in cooperation with the Market Safety Manager to support all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Work with the manager to review work volumes, plan and continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency and quality work product, and effective customer service.
• Review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics, and develop and execute strategies for improvement.
• Lead the team at the location by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values, and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
• Enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of experience in a related field, or an alternative combination such as a higher degree or certification and at least 5 years of experience in a related discipline.
• Safe driver's required; valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions.
• Must be able to clear a pre‑employment drug test.
