Ruppert Landscape is a privately held, family/employee owned, commercial landscape maintenance and construction company based in Laytonsville, MD. With a multi-state presence and a small company feel, our mission is to provide opportunities for our people, take care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community.

Position Description:

The Field Manager is responsible for managing labor and material in the field to complete assigned contract maintenance and snow removal projects. Additionally, field managers must develop their team members. Success is indicated by contract renewals, jobs completed within budgeted hours, and low turnover of assistants and crewmembers. This position cooperates with other landscape management and enhancement field managers to meet branch goals.

Salary range: 48k-60k

Responsibilities:

1. Develop a clear understanding of company philosophies, branch goals, and financial status.
2. Get to know your team to help them grow within the company; set goals and monitor progress through evaluations.
3. Participate actively in training by attending or conducting certification sessions regularly.
4. Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities on assigned contracts.
5. Understand and monitor job budgets, review reports, and communicate budget hours to team members.
6. Build good relationships with clients on every job.
7. Inspect jobs to monitor quality, address issues proactively, and complete property service reports.
8. Sell additional services using T&M tickets.
9. Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in good condition.

Qualifications:

1. Proven ability to manage others at various levels.
2. Experience working with service customers.
3. At least one year of experience in contract maintenance in a commercial setting.
4. Two or four-year horticultural or related degree plus industry experience; additional experience or certifications can substitute for formal education.
5. Ability to identify and diagnose insect and disease issues and schedule treatments.
6. Knowledge of vehicles and equipment used in maintenance and snow removal.
7. Valid driver’s license with a clean record over the past three years.
