Crew Leader for a major tree service

We are looking for a highly motivated, responsible and experienced crew leader to join our team! The Crew Leader is responsible for supervising and leading a team of tree service professionals in the safe and efficient execution of tree removal, pruning, and maintenance tasks. This role involves coordinating daily operations, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and adhering to safety standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Supervision:

    • Lead and motivate a team of climbers, and ground crew members.
    • Assign tasks and ensure they are completed according to company standards.
    • Provide training and guidance to crew members on techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use.
  • Operational Management:

    • Plan and organize daily work schedules and assignments.
    • Ensure that all work is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
    • Manage and oversee the setup and takedown of job sites.
  • Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure that all crew members adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Conduct safety briefings and inspections before starting work.
    • Address and report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Customer Service:

    • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on progress.
    • Address any client concerns or questions professionally and promptly.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through quality work and courteous interactions.
  • Equipment and Material Management:

    • Oversee the maintenance and proper use of tools and equipment.
    • Ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are available and in good working condition.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
  • Quality Control:

    • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations.
    • Address any issues or deficiencies in work quality and make necessary corrections.
  • Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain accurate records of job progress, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
    • Complete and submit reports as required by management.
Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in tree service, or a related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Proficient in the use of tree service equipment and tools.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, and working at heights.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of tree species, pruning techniques, and tree care practices.
  • Bilingual: It is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • May require irregular hours, including weekends or evenings, depending on project demands.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous conditions and use of heavy machinery.
Competitive Pay: Pay depending on experience.
