Essential Functions of Crew Leader at Wright Tree Service:

1. Supervise a line clearance crew and plan daily work activities.
2. Assign tasks and direct crew members according to best practices, adjusting as needed in the field.
3. Identify poisonous plants and use appropriate safeguards.
4. Enforce safety practices, conduct safety training, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
5. Obtain permissions from property owners for tree work and herbicide application, and coordinate access and work explanations.
6. Maintain good customer relations through professional conduct and quality work.
7. Keep accurate records of work performed, crew hours, and reports for supervisors and utility representatives.
8. Interpret work orders, drawings, and symbols related to tree trimming, removal, and chemical application.
9. Conduct safety training for crew members and control crew costs through efficient work methods.
10. Monitor weather conditions and determine work schedules accordingly.
11. Ensure safety of employees and the public, including setting barriers and signs, and performing rescue operations if needed.
12. Inspect trucks and tools, perform minor repairs, and maintain a clean work environment.
13. Respond to emergency situations, including hazard elimination and tree removal to restore service.
14. Perform tree trimming and removal, using climbing, ground work, and appropriate tools.
15. Apply herbicides, load/unload debris, and perform equipment maintenance.
16. Train new employees and operate trucks and equipment safely.
17. Work in hazardous environments near energized lines, with noise, and in various weather conditions.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements of Crew Leader at Wright Tree Service:

1. At least 3 years’ experience in tree trimming or clearing, or successful performance reviews.
2. Strong leadership skills and ability to handle stressful situations and multitask.
3. Knowledge of trees, arboricultural techniques, and ANSI standards.
4. Understanding of electrical circuits and ability to read circuit maps.
5. Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Enforce safety practices and wear PPE as required.
7. Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
8. Availability for long hours, overtime, and emergency call-outs.
9. Valid driver’s license, CDL, and medical card, with ability to pass drug tests.
10. Herbicide certification, First-Aid, and CPR certifications.
