Position Summary:

We are currently hiring a Crew Lead Janitor at our Crane Indiana Naval Base.

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Shift: Full-Time

Hours: 12pm-8pm

Salary: $18.54 + Federal Benefits

Typical Duties:

• Reports to the Project Manager (custodial) and is responsible for supervising work-related opportunities for people of different abilities, working with integrated teams, and providing work support and development as needed.
• Assists with supervising employees and clients in janitorial duties and helps the crew complete tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking bathrooms (sinks, toilets, mirrors, stall walls, stainless steel), vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, taking out trash, replacing liners, and cleaning receptacles. Also includes dusting and cleaning office areas, desks, furniture, and windows.
• Maintains and organizes chemicals and equipment storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Assists in completing semiannual assessments and performance evaluations if assigned. Ensures safety procedures are followed and customer satisfaction is maintained while ensuring quality.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring proper use of resources. Reports needs to the Project Manager and advises on additional supplies. Completes supply requests and performs preventative and minor maintenance on equipment.
• Supervises janitors, ensuring work aligns with contract requirements, company policies, and procedures. Creates schedules and assigns tasks, communicates expectations, and completes daily sheets and assessments. Reports issues and recommends corrective actions.
• Contributes to teamwork by training co-workers, communicating needs, and implementing feedback for improvement.
• Performs duties with a focus on safety, quality, and customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year of janitorial experience; supervisory experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks, DCFS abuse and neglect checks, and driving background checks.
• Must be 21 or older for driving insurance purposes.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to push and pull up to 45 lbs.
