Job summary

City of Springdale is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to perform lawn care and landscape maintenance under the Public Works Department. You will mow, trim, edge, weed, water, plant beds, and oversee a small landscape crew while ensuring reliable attendance and strong customer service.

The position requires a valid Arkansas driver's license and 7–11 months of related experience; a Master Gardener certification is preferred. Safety testing applies due to the city's policy.

Qualifications

• 7 to 11 months of related landscaping maintenance experience.
• Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License.
• Master Gardener certification or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient with work trucks and standard maintenance equipment.
• Ability to coordinate small landscape crews.

Responsibilities

• Provide good customer service to internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships and reliable attendance.
• Perform lawn mowing, trimming and edging.
• Operate brush hog and specialty mowing equipment.
• Perform weeding and watering of landscape areas.
• Plant landscape areas as directed.
• Trim trees and shrubs.
• Act as crew leader for small landscape crew.
• Perform general maintenance duties as directed.
• Mosquito maintenance.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
