Job summary

IHOP in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Shift Leader to help run day-to-day operations on the floor and in back-of-house when managers are not present.

You will supervise the restaurant floor, assist kitchen staff, monitor stock and prep, help keep the restaurant clean, and complete reports on time. Flexible hours and paid training accompany real advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to speak and read English; write routine reports.
• Basic computer skills including Email, MS Excel, MS Word are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the restaurant floor and guest experience.
• Aide kitchen staff and coordinate with team.
• Check stock levels and prep as needed.
• Assist in cleaning duties and restaurant cleanliness.
• Complete all required reports and paperwork on time.

Job description

The IHOP Shift Leader reports directly to their manager(s). The manager(s) directly supervises IHOP restaurant's employees. A shift leaders primary responsibilities include managing operations in the front and back of the house while the managers are off and additionally on high volume shifts.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising the restaurant floor, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Aiding kitchen staff
• Check stock / prep levels and adjust or prep as needed.
• Assist in cleaning duties ensuring restaurant cleanliness is maintained
• Completing all required reports and paperwork accurately and on time.
• Available to work days, nights and weekends
• Willingness to help where needed, when needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Ability to speak and read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and guests.
