Job summary

GK Environmental Services in Great Bend, KS seeks a full‑time laborer for manure spreading operations in the Great Bend and Larned area. Responsibilities include hauling, spreading, and routine maintenance, with opportunities to operate multiple types of equipment.

The role requires tractor/loader/semi experience as preferred; a valid driver’s license and ideally Class A CDL, plus strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Post-offer testing may be required.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language/Math abilities: basic reading, counting, and measurement.
  • Reasoning: ability to follow simple written or oral instructions and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to execute spreading assignments.
  • Operate equipment to load trucks, spreaders, and other vehicles.
  • Operate equipment to turn compost rows, combine rows, and sort manure rows.
  • Change oil, grease, and perform limited repairs to equipment and machinery.
  • Assist in general repair and maintenance of buildings and storage facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Location: GK Environmental Services - Great Bend, KS 67530, GKES has an immediate opening for a full-time laborer in the Great Bend and Larned, KS area.

Job Summary

To perform all activities involved in the manure spreading operation in order to meet productivity and profitability objectives. This includes hauling, spreading, and everyday maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment to execute spreading assignments.
  • Operate equipment to load trucks, spreaders, and several other vehicles.
  • Operate equipment to turn compost rows, combine rows, and to sort manure rows.
  • Changes oil, greases, and makes limited repairs to equipment and machinery.
  • Assists in the general repair and maintenance of buildings and storage facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Tractor, loader, and semi experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Prefer to have a Class A CDL
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good attendance, punctuality, and dependability
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and priorities

Qualifications
  • Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Ability:Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Math Ability:Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
