Job summary

Actalent is seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer to support large-scale aircraft launch and recovery systems. You will own Creo modeling, sustaining engineering, and detailed drawing updates while performing ANSYS analyses to validate designs.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in mechanical engineering, strong GD&T knowledge, and experience with ECNs/CRs in aerospace or related fields. This on-site Poway role emphasizes reliability and sustainment of complex equipment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong Creo experience, including modeling and detailed drawings.
• Experience updating released drawings and managing engineering change activity (ECNs/CRs).
• Proficiency with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• ANSYS Mechanical or other FEA experience.
• Background in aerospace, defense, heavy equipment, robotics, or similar complex mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain Creo 3D models and engineering drawings for complex mechanical assemblies.
• Own sustaining engineering activities, including ECNs/CRs and support of fielded equipment.
• Apply GD&T per ASME standards and perform tolerance stack-up analyses.
• Conduct ANSYS-based structural, stress, deflection, and fatigue analyses.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, and procurement to troubleshoot issues and implement design improvements.
• Support design-for-manufacturing and long-term product sustainment in harsh environments.
• Participate in FMEAs and reliability improvement projects.
