Job summary

Foundation Partners Group in Eugene, Oregon, is seeking a Crematory Operator to ensure remains are received, processed, and returned to families with dignity. You may assist with transporting the deceased from nursing homes, hospitals, residences, or coroner's offices to the funeral home.

You must be at least 21, able to lift 100 lbs, have a valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record, and demonstrate compassion, attention to detail, and strong communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for the deceased respectfully while performing cremation tasks.
• Maintain the crematorium and equipment.
• Receive remains and ensure documentation and ID are accurate.
• Prioritize safety and universal precautions in daily tasks.
• Deliver and release cremated remains to families.

What You Will Do

As a Crematory Operator, you will be responsible for seeing that the remains are correctly received, processed, and returned to the family. You may also assist with transporting the deceased from nursing homes, hospitals, residences, or coroner's offices to the funeral home. As funeral home representatives, you must maintain composure in challenging situations with compassion and kindness. You must be at least 21 years old, able to safely lift 100 lbs, and have a valid state-issued driver's license and a clean driving record.

What You Will Do:

• Compassion & Empathy: Care for the deceased respectfully while performing all the tasks involved in the cremation process
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain the crematorium, equipment, and adjacent facilities
• Meticulous Attention: Receive remains and ensure all documentation is complete and visual identification of the deceased is complete and accurate
• Critical Thinking: Receive instructions for multiple tasks, determine the ideal order for the tasks, and complete them promptly
• Safety Conscious:Promotes a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct
• Professional Delivery: Delivers and releases cremated remains to the appropriate funeral home or family member

What We Require:

• Crematory operator certification is preferred
• Valid state-issued driver's license with a clear driving record

• Effective communication skills and high levels of compassion and integrity
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent follow-up skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Pay Range

The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay.
The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience. $22.00 - $23.00 / hour
