Job summary

Valdese Weavers in Crescent, NC is seeking a yarn creel operator to support warper operations on the 2nd shift. You will creel yarn, keep cones tidy, assist with creel changes, and learn pattern positioning when running multiple colors. Overtime and shift premium apply.

The role requires basic reading, writing and math, manual dexterity, and the ability to tie a weaver's knot, climb, reach, and bend. Safety and 5S standards are emphasized in daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Creel yarn for the warper.
• Keep cones tied in warper creel.
• Assist warper tender in creel changes.
• Learn the patterns and positions to hang when running multiple colors.
• Adjust arbors as needed.
• Sweep when needed – at least three times per shift.
• Open yarn cases and break down boxes.
• Take out empty cones and trash once per shift.
• Learn to operate the warper and relieve the warper tender for breaks.
• Cut off beams.
• Help warper tender bring ends up to relays.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Work scheduled overtime.
