• Experience leading underwriting teams.
• Ability to analyze loan scenarios and communicate decisions.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA, Agency, Non-Agency lending policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the underwriting manager in managing workflow, reviewing pipeline reports, and handling escalations.
• Perform daily pipeline reviews to ensure loans are completed within service level agreements.
• Ensure the team meets quality and production standards as defined by the business.
• Assist in auditing team members and mentor processors transitioning to underwriting or underwriters moving to the next level.
• Support training of new hires.
• Underwrite complicated transactions on multiple loan plans and maintain a lending authority of $2.5 MM.
• Apply knowledge of VA, FHA, Agency, Non-Agency, and Community lending policies.
• Analyze loan scenarios, answer questions from sales and processing, and resolve escalated loans.
• Communicate credit decisions verbally and in writing to loan officers and processors.
• Disseminate new policies and procedures to the team.
• Review processes for efficiencies and cost‑effectiveness.
• Act as Underwriting Subject Matter Expert for special projects.
• Maintain Daily Control Tracking reports for ARCMs and distribute them appropriately.
• Complete Team Lead reviews on loans in final decline status to ensure correct decline reasons and disclosures.
• Participate in the decline committee process to exhaust all options before issuing adverse action letters.
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and safeguard Citigroup’s reputation.
• Adhere to policy, apply ethical judgment, and report control issues transparently.
• Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
