Job summary

Garda Capital Partners in New York is seeking a Summer 2027 Intern to join the Credit Trading Desk. You will shadow the investment team, learn analytics used in trading and risk systems, and work closely with a mentor who provides guidance and feedback.

You will also have the opportunity to shadow other desks across the trading floor, gaining exposure to the firm's broader business and markets.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in finance, economics, etc.
• Quantitative & programming skills (Python & SQL)
• Knowledge and interest in financial markets
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team
• Intellectual curiosity and motivation to innovate and improve
• Prior experience in credit markets is not necessary

Responsibilities

• Shadow the credit trading desk to learn day-to-day responsibilities from Analysts to Portfolio Managers
• Develop understanding of the credit market and its main products
• Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify trading opportunities and assess risk of new and existing strategies
• Complete desk projects including trade ideas with presentation to the investment team
• Support the team's research process including data collection, analysis, prototyping, back testing, and performance monitoring
