• 5+ years experience in underwriting required.
• Experience with Non-QM underwriting preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for second-level review of loans.
• Onboard and train new underwriting team members.
• Assist with loan compliance and investor guidelines.

Our Corporate Headquarters is looking to hire a Non-QM Credit Standards Underwriter.

ALL REMOTE POSITIONS REQUIRE A DOWNLOAD SPEED OF NO LESS THAN 50 MBPS.

Job Title Non-QM Credit Standards Underwriter

Reports To Credit Standards Manager

FLSA Status Non-exempt

Department TPO Underwriting

Division TPO

Salary Range $95K to $115K per year

Summary Responsible for assisting in ensuring the staff underwrites loans in accordance with underwriting guidelines while adhering to company policy and procedures all while maintaining excellent customer service.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for completing second level review of loans for new and existing underwriters for new products and/or loans outside of their lending authority. Loans must be reviewed, and feedback provided within the required SLAs.
• Providing loan level feedback to underwriting during the second review process, and assisting them with their questions on programs, guidelines and LOS usage as they work towards obtaining credit authority.
• Successfully onboard new underwriting and PFQC team members including mentoring and training on NQM Funding’s guidelines, policies/procedures, and LOS usage.
• Work with post-closing and channel leadership to cure investor suspense’s and provide coaching and guidance back to the underwriting teams as needed.
• Assist in testing of new functionality within our LOS.
• May, on occasion, complete thorough manual analysis of mortgage loan files and their conditions to determine compliance with company and investor guidelines and matrices to ensure salability of closed loans to help keep underwriting teams within established turn time/SLA requirements.
• Maintain thorough working knowledge of Non-QM, TPO and/or NDC guidelines and policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
