Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is a leading equipment rental company seeking a Credit Specialist to assess, negotiate and collect on open receivables. You will serve as the liaison between customers and branches and uphold the Credit Playbook/Credit Management objectives.

The role focuses on meeting goals, contacting customers, and resolving disputes while maintaining positive customer relationships. Excellent Excel skills and a customer-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of related finance experience (collection experience preferred).
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Ability to complete complex account reconciliations with a customer-focused approach.
• Web-Based Workflow Solution software experience preferred.
• Strong math and verbal/written communication skills.
• Superior organizational and time-management skills.
• Valid Driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Meeting established goals and objectives as determined by Credit Playbook/Credit Management.
• Meet metrics for contacting customers and collecting past due balances for assigned AR portfolio via calls, email, letters.
• Collect, review, evaluate and prepare credit recommendations for Credit Supervisor.
• Assist in negotiating payment arrangements and plans.
• Communicate progress with Credit Management Team regularly.
• Work with field operations to review and resolve billing issues and disputes.
• Resolve information requests, invoicing and disputes raised by customers.
• Other duties as needed.

Come build your future with United Rentals! As a Credit Specialist, your ability to assess, negotiate and collect on open account receivables will be key. As our liaison between customers and branches, you will help us maintain positive relationships while meeting the established goals and objectives of our Credit Playbook/Credit Management team.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for meeting established goals and objectives as determined by Credit Playbook/Credit Management
• Responsible to meet all established metrics including those associated with contacting customers and collecting past due balances for assigned accounts receivable portfolio through a range of techniques, including telephone, email, facsimile and automated collection letters
• Collect, review, evaluate and prepare credit recommendations for Credit Supervisor on additional action deemed appropriate and necessary to collect past due balances
• Assist in the negotiation of payment arrangements and plan
• Communicate progress and concerns with Credit Management Team on a regular basis
• Work with field operations to review and resolve customer billing issues and disputes
• Resolve any additional information requests, invoicing, billing issues documentation requests and disputes that may be brought up by the customers
• Other duties assigned as needed
