Job summary

Energy Transfer offers a 12-week Credit Risk Management internship starting May 2027 in Houston. The intern will support daily credit activities, exposure monitoring, and communication with Legal, Commercial, and Accounting teams.

Responsibilities include gathering, organizing, and cleaning data for credit reviews, learning data flow between systems, and assisting with report generation and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Data Analytics or related field.
• Sophomore or Junior standing preferred; seniors eligible if returning to school after internship.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with data tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily credit activities and exposure monitoring within Credit Risk Management.
• Assist in gathering, organizing, and cleaning data used in credit reviews and reporting.
• Learn how credit information flows between systems and supports decision-making.
• Support monitoring of credit portfolio by reviewing exposure levels and payment trends.
• Assist in evaluating credit risk for commercial transactions and counterparties.
• Help identify concerns and elevate as needed; support risk mitigation methods like letters of credit and guarantees.
• Help prepare periodic credit reports, presentations, and summaries for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Commercial, Accounting, Contracts, and Legal.
• Participate in ad hoc projects to support departmental improvements.
