The estimated salary range for this role is between $164,000 and $230,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The position may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive and benefits package.
Role Description
- Review and challenge credit applications submitted by the front office, and prepare/explain summaries and recommendations to Credit Department management.
- Focuses on lending transactions related to investment-grade and high-yield corporate clients, including derivatives, hedging, leveraged loans, and complex capital structures.
- Analyze obligor credit risk, transaction background, deal structure, terms, profitability, and regulatory classification.
Role Objectives
- Assess credit risk elements, especially for high-yield obligors, providing effective review and challenge.
- Prepare and present credit summaries to management.
- Assist front office with due diligence, structuring, and risk identification.
- Coordinate the credit approval process between front office and management.
- Monitor credit quality and provide feedback to ensure complete and compliant applications.
- Supervise problem assets and contribute to portfolio reviews.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and US regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed on relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Perform sector-specific analysis as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in credit risk or related fields.
- Experience with high-yield/middle-market corporate finance preferred.
- Experience interacting with US regulators is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Degree in Finance, Business, or related fields; MBA/CFA highly preferred.
