Credit Managers are responsible for overseeing the credit granting process for a company. Their job is to optimize company sales and reduce bad debt losses by maintaining the credit policy. They do this by assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers and conducting periodic reviews of existing customers.

• Research and evaluate clients’ creditworthiness.
• Create credit scoring models to predict risks.
• Approve or reject requests, based on credibility and potential revenues and losses.
• Negotiate loan terms with clients.
• Monitor payments.
• Maintain records of applications for credit.
• Follow up with clients to manage debt settlements.
• Develop, review, and update our company’s credit policies.

• Follow up with clients to manage debt settlements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directly supervises employees within the Credit department.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  
  

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Hands-on experience with accounting software.
• Solid understanding of lending procedures.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to create and process financial spreadsheets (e.g., in Excel.)
• Negotiation skills.
• BSC in Accounting, Economics, Banking and Finance or relevant field.
• Associate's Degree (BAS) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer skills required: Accounting Software; Microsoft Office Suite; ERP.
  
  

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position are typical for a sedentary office environment including considerable time spent in a stationary position, at a desk using a computer terminal and keyboard. Movement about the office and standing are required occasionally.

The work environment for this position is typical for an office including protection from weather conditions and typical office equipment noise.
